Weiss Industries has a new owner!
Weiss Industries, Inc. is pleased to announce that Laurie and David McKeon have recently purchased the business from current owner Phyllis Weiss. An industry leader in metal stamping and heat treating, Weiss Industries has provided exceptional service for some of the most demanding OEMs and contract metalworking companies in the U.S. and abroad. Founded in 1948 by Rudolph Weiss, Sr., Weiss Industries serves several business sectors, including military defense, agriculture, commercial small appliance, and the pump industry.
In reference to the sale, Mrs. Weiss stated: “We were looking for a buyer with close ties to the community, who would not only see this as a valuable business opportunity but would also understand and appreciate the unique relationship we have with our employees, customers, and vendors. The Weiss family has known the McKeon family for over 30 years, and I have complete confidence in their business acumen and ability to carry on Weiss Industry’s high standards of excellence and unparalleled customer service.” To ensure a seamless transition for Weiss’ dedicated employees and customers, Mrs. Weiss will continue to be involved in the business in the near future. Majority shareholder, Laurie McKeon notes: “We are honored and humbled to carry on the legacy of the Weiss family. We are committed to not only growing the business here at Weiss but also to being an active part of the local community.”
With a strong business and engineering background, longtime executive David McKeon has decades of experience in both the manufacturing and distribution sectors. The previous president of Beckley-Cardy Supply Company (currently School Specialty, Inc.), McKeon and his family are familiar with the Mansfield area, having lived here from 1989 to 2002. His experience, combined with his wife’s management and legal expertise, will provide steady leadership that positions Weiss well for both the short and long term. Dave McKeon states: “Weiss Industries is well respected in the industry. Phyllis and Rudy Weiss built an outstanding company. Moreover, the highly skilled, dedicated, quality-focused, and knowledgeable staff make this a great investment for our family. We look forward to a very bright future for Weiss, for our employees, and for our customers.”
